Women’s Basketball traveled to neighboring Wake Tech on Friday adapting to a game time day and time change to beat the predicted weather. The Trojans improved to 3-5 in conference play, tying the Eagles as they defeat them 61-53. 

FTCC vs. Wake Tech: 61-53, Win

Wake Tech took an early lead up six points after the first quarter and continued pushing in the second to lead the Trojans by nine points going into the half. 

The Eagles came back after the half outscoring the Trojans by two points in the third quarter, before turning the game around in the fourth. The Trojans held the Eagles to only five points in the fourth quarter, pulling ahead by their 24 points to finish the game out on top. 

Amore’ Kirkland (Fayetteville, NC) was the leading scorer for the Trojans with 17 points, five assists and six rebounds. Nyla Mitchell (Lumberton, NC) was right behind with 16 points, two assists and six rebounds. 

Ke’Onna Bryant (Fayetteville, NC) came off the bench for double digit rebounds and five points. Nyleiah White (Albermarle, NC) and Aliah Barker (Harrison, TN) each added six points.

The Trojan’s are on the road to Louisburg College today for a 5pm tip-off and will be back at home on Thursday night playing a conference match-up against Bryant & Stratton College. All home games are free admission and played at Reid Ross Classical School: 3200 Ramsey Street.
