The Trojans played their final home game of the season last night against the Fire Ants of USC Sumter. Sophomore day celebrations took place before the start of the game honoring the three sophomores from USC Sumter and the six Trojan sophomores. They finish their home games 7-1 with only one loss to (previously #5) #6 Richard Bland.
FTCC vs. USC Sumter (W, 3-0)
The Trojans started out strong against the Fire Ants in the first two sets, while the third set ended a little more closely. The offense was led by sophomores Sydney Conklin (Fayetteville, NC) with 11 kills and Morgan Brady (Fayetteville, NC) with 10 kills. Eternitie Denton (Fayetteville, NC) added 7 kills and Rion Caldwell (Florence, SC) added 5. Jacqueline Woosley (Fayetteville, NC) set up 32 of the teams 39 kills.
The Trojans served 8 aces on the night with 3 coming from Brady, Kailey Ann Strickland (Fayetteville, NC) with 2, Sonjai Guiles (Georgetown, SC) with 2 and Woosley with 1.
Libero, Aliyah Brown (Fayetteville, NC), led the offense with 11 digs. She earned Player of the Week honors from FTCC last week for her performance against Cape Fear, Pitt and Louisburg. Brady and Woosley added 13 digs.
Guiles gets 2 solo blocks for the night, while Brady adds 1.

The Trojans are on the road to Virginia this weekend to end regular season play. Friday they head to #6 Richard Bland for a rematch and Saturday they travel to Virginia Beach to play Bryant & Stratton.
Trojan Sophomores
#2 Aliyah Brown
Aliyah will graduate in the spring with an Associate in Science degree. She plans on transferring to Fayetteville State University to continue her academic and athletic career.
#8 Taylor Melvin
Taylor will graduate in December with an Associates of Arts degree. She plans on transferring to UNC Pembroke to work on a degree is Sports Marketing.
#9 Sonjai Guiles
Sonjai will graduate in December with an Associate of arts degree in Psychology. She will be transferring to Fayetteville State University to study Psychology and continue her volleyball career.
#10 Morgan Brady
Morgan is currently in the Speech Pathology Assistant program here at FTCC and will graduate in 2024. She will be FTCC’s first 3 sport athlete this year as she will play for both our Women’s basketball team and softball team this year.
#11 Jacqueline Woosley
Jacqueline will graduate in December with an Associate in Arts degree. She plans on transferring to a four year university to earn a degree in Sports Management.
#14 Sydney Conklin
Sydney will graduate with an Associates in arts degree. She will be transferring to UNC Charlotte next year to pursue a degree in Forensic Psychology.
