The Fayetteville Tech men’s basketball team has set its schedule for the 2019-20 season.
The Trojans open the season on the road at Louisburg College to take on Caldwell CC and Brunswick CC in the Hurricanes’ annual Louisburg Classic on Nov. 8 and 10.
FTCC welcomes Wake Tech on Nov. 13, marking the Trojans’ first conference game and one of just two home games in the opening month of play. A three-game away stretch follows before the Trojans host Guilford Tech.
The Trojans receive Bryant & Stratton and Pitt CC on back-to-back weekends in December leading into the winter break and have four home games in January — hosting Methodist’s junior varsity team Jan. 13, Davidson County on Jan. 16, Vance-Granville on Jan. 22 and Louisburg on Jan. 25 before returning to the road.
FTCC’s schedule is home game-heavy on the back end, with five home contests scheduled in the month. Lenoir CC comes to town Feb. 5, and the Trojans host Central Carolina CC (Feb. 10), Patrick Henry (Feb. 15) and conference newcomer Southwest Virginia CC (Feb. 16) in consecutive home games.
The Trojans cap the regular season with a home match against Catawba Valley on Feb. 22.
The Trojans’ conference schedule grows to 22 games this year with the addition of Southwest Virginia CC. SWCC, while not eligible for 2020 postseason play, joins Region 10 Division II for the regular season.
FTCC’s non-conference slate is peppered with quality opponents. In addition to facing Methodist JV in January, FTCC will play Gardner-Webb’s JV team in Boiling Springs on Jan. 19 and North Carolina’s JV team in Chapel Hill on Jan. 25. The Trojans travel to Bluefield College on Nov. 16 to take on the NAIA program’s JV squad.
All home games will be played at Reid Ross Classical School located at 3200 Ramsey Street. Admission is free for FTCC students with a current ID and for children 10 and under. General admission is $5.
