Men’s Basketball co-hosted the Central Carolina Holiday Classic this past weekend in Sanford, NC. The Trojans played two games against Wake Tech and Brunswick Community College. Men’s Basketball is 4-9 overall and 0-6 in conference play. 

FTCC vs. Wake Tech: 65-67, Loss

A close game and devastating loss for the Trojans against the Eagles of Wake Tech. The Trojans were up by five points at half time, but Wake Tech outscored FTCC in the second half by seven points to determine the game. 

Melquan Jackson (Baltimore, MD) and Jaylen Sturdivant (Raeford, NC) led the scoring for the Trojans each finishing the game with 13 points. Jayden Pitt (Farmville, NC) put in 10 with two assists and two steals. Te’Jon McDaniel-McCormick (Salina, KS) had six rebounds and nine points.

FTCC vs. Brunswick: 69-90, Loss

Sturdivant led the Trojans from off the bench with 20 points, adding four rebounds. McDaniel-McCormick again led the Trojans underneath the basket with nine rebounds, 16 points, three assists and three steals. 

Jahlil Green (Greensboro, NC) and Armaan Benitez (Philadelphia, PA) each added nine points.

Men’s Basketball is traveling to Southwest Virginia on Sunday for a 2:00pm conference game. They will be back at home on Monday, January 6 against Patrick & Henry at 7:00pm. All home games are played at Reid Ross Classical School: 3200 Ramsey Street- free admission.
