The FTCC Men’s Baseball team got their first win at Trojan Field at J.P. Riddle Stadium. The Trojans welcomed Fulton-Montgomery of NY to their home field on a rain-shortened day. The Trojans won 14-8 in an exciting fashion, putting up two innings of 5 and 7 runs, as they handed the Raiders the loss.
Tyler Dove started the game and went three innings. He left the game trailing 2-3, but he pitched well, facing 14 batters and striking out 4, while giving up only 2 hits. Due to the games coming up this weekend, Tyler was pulled for the fourth inning for Trevan Locklear and Jaiden Barker, who, combined, gave up 5 runs on 4 hits.
The Trojans matched the 5 runs in the bottom of the inning on 2 hits, 2 walks, and a hit batsman. The key hit was a triple by Jamison Cummings who plated 2.
Neither team scored in the fifth, and the Trojans kept the Raiders scoreless over the last three innings with strong pitching from Bo Bodine. The Trojans opened it up in the sixth, drawing 5 walks and 2 key base hits. Nakelon Bowie drove in 2 on his second hit of the day. Chuck Jordan drove a ball deep to left, dropped by the fielder, that emptied the bases for the final tally.
Bodine gets the win his strong three innings. The Trojans were down six runs and were able to stay in the game and surged to a good win!
