FTCC is pleased to announce Alysia DeJesus has been named as the Coordinator of Academic Advising, a new grant-funded position designed to provide leadership and oversight for the overall operation of FTCC’s academic advising program.
Alysia has been with the College since 2019, when she joined as success coach. In that role, she worked directly with students to provide support and act as an ambassador of the College’s QEP – FTCC C.A.R.E.S. In 2021, Alysia became an academic advisor for college transfer. In her role as advisor, she has been integral in developing the University Transfer Advising Center (UTAC) to assist students with holistic advising as they plan to continue their education at four-year colleges and universities.
Alysia has a background in counseling and has brought her expertise and experience to various initiatives and projects at the College. Alysia is a member of the FTCC SACSCOC Leadership team, serves as the advisor for the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS), and is a system administrator for the College’s early alert and advising platform – Student Success and Engagement (SSE). Alysia is also a 2023 graduate of the NCCCS Advising Leadership Academy.
In her new role as coordinator, Alysia will continue to support advising by working with advising centers across campus to ensure all students are provided with a unique advising experience.
