HyFlex Training
Who: FTCC Faculty Professional Development
What: HyFlex Instructor Training Process
The Center for Faculty Development is facilitating training for instructors on teaching and learning in the HyFlex model. “HyFlex” combines “hybrid” teaching with “flexible” learning. Students in HyFlex courses have the autonomy to select their mode of attendance, and alternate between face-to-face classroom instruction, online, synchronous instruction, or in some cases asynchronous participation. To best prepare for the HyFlex model, faculty members will need to complete the following process:
- HyFlex Training Course – Blackboard Course
- Self-paced, 1 hour
- Technology Training – Face-to-face, on demand
- HyFlex Room Technology (A/V Services)
- Create a KACE Ticket (click on KACE in your FTCC Shortcuts Folder) to request training
- Log in by providing your user name and password.
- Under “Organization,” select MIS.
- Click on Service Desk> Under tickets, click on New > New Tickets from Queue>A/V Support Tech Support
- Type your request and continue to select information in the various dropdown box areas (Problem type, Location, Area, Area Room Number, Contact Number). The system will prompt you when necessary information has not been provided.
- Click “Save”. You will receive a confirmation email and any updates concerning your work order request.
- HyFlex Room Technology (A/V Services)
- HyFlex Instructional Training – CFD
- Face-to-face, 1.5 hours
There will be 3 upcoming sessions of the HyFlex Instructional Training offered by the CFD.
Faculty should come to the CFD portion of the training with a completed course map in order to work with coaches on the direct application of HyFlex practices, theories, and techniques.
