Fayetteville Technical Community College sophomore Gerren Jones II has been named a Third Team All-American by the NJCAA Division II Men’s Basketball Committee.
Jones, a guard for the Trojans, was the team’s leading scorer in 2023-24, averaging 18.6 points per game. He set single-season records at FTCC for points scored – 595 – and free throws made – 194. He scored 185 field goals, the second-most in a single season at FTCC, and played in all 32 games. FTCC finished the season 20-12.
In addition to All-American honors, Jones was named the NJCAA Region 10 Division II Offensive Player of the Year and was named to the First Team All-Region.
Jones, who is from Swansboro, is earning his associate degree in business administration and marketing at FTCC and plans to transfer in the fall to a four-year university to earn a bachelor degree in marketing.
