FTCC’s Digital Media Department, through a grant from FTCC Foundation and the Arts Council of Fayetteville-Cumberland County, is excited to announce TALE – The Storytelling Event. The event is scheduled for Feb. 20 at FTCC’s Paul H. Thompson Library.
The event is open to members of the public who want to share a story. To help individuals prepare to participate in TALE, FTCC Digital Media is hosting a series of workshops at Cumberland County public libraries.
January workshops:
- Friday, Jan. 19, 2-5:30 p.m. – Hope Mills Community Library, 3411 Golfview Rd., Hope Mills
- Saturday, Jan. 27, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. – North Regional Library, 855 McArthur Rd., Fayetteville
- Tuesday, Jan. 30, 4:30-6:30 p.m. – East Regional Library, 4809 Clinton Rd., Fayetteville
February workshops:
- Saturday, Feb. 3, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. – Headquarters Library, 300 Maiden Lane, Fayetteville
- Tuesday, Feb. 6, 4:30-6:30 p.m. – Bordeaux Community Library, 3711 Village Dr., Fayetteville
- Friday, Feb. 9, 2-5:30 p.m. – Cliffdale Regional Library, 6882 Cliffdale Rd., Fayetteville
Stories under 5 minutes will get produced by students and volunteers. Stories over 5 minutes can be recorded for documentation. All stories can be written, printed and bound.
For anyone interested in a campus recording, appointments may be made from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Please email Torie Quismundo to reserve a campus recording time.

The public is invited to attend TALE on Feb. 20 at 6 p.m. at the Paul H. Thompson Library. The evening’s lineup will include Granddaddy Junebug and FTCC instructor Dr. Sonny Kelly, and FTCC instructor James Sanders will serve as emcee.
