The FTCC Foundation will hold its Annual Donor Appreciation and Scholarship Luncheon on Friday, March 6, at 11 a.m. at the Tony Rand Student Center at Fayetteville Technical Community College. The luncheon recognizes scholarship recipients and donors.
The speakers will include FTCC President Dr. Larry Keen, FTCC Foundation Board President Greg Whitley, Foundation Assistant Director Lauren Arp, and Executive Director Sandy Ammons. FTCC Alumna Donna Clayton Lloyd will be the keynote speaker. Lloyd is an alum of the Real Estate Fundamentals Course at FTCC. Current and former Tom McLean Ambassadors will be highlighted in a video presentation.
The FTCC Foundation has distributed 244 awards totaling nearly $200,000 for the 2019-2020 academic year. Awards include academic scholarships and also include support from the Student Book Fund, Foundation Emergency Fund, and Barriers to Education.
A variety of scholarships are available based on financial needs, major, and academic performance. These scholarships are made possible thanks to the generosity of individuals, alumni, retired and current faculty and staff, businesses, organizations, and foundations. Scholarship categories include General Scholarships, Memorial, Military, Business, Engineering, Public Service, Applied Technology, and Health Sciences.
Dr. Mark Sorrells, Senior Vice President for Academic and Student Services, will recognize 41 students who achieved 3.0-3.49 GPA, 58 students with 3.5-3.99 GPA, and 16 students with a 4.0 GPA.
The FTCC Foundation cultivates and manages resources needed to support the mission of FTCC by providing college access for students to attain their career goals. The Foundation administers 120 scholarship funds and four emergency funds created with contributions from generous donors.
