Women’s Basketball hosted the Lady Dragon of Fort Liberty on Friday evening before traveling to Brunswick Community College on Sunday. The Trojans beat both teams improving to 4-3 overall and 2-3 in conference play.
FTCC vs. Fort Liberty: 116-40, Win
The Trojans hosted neighboring Fort Liberty Women’s Basketball Team for a game on Friday night at Reid Ross. The Trojans led after the first quarter by eight points and kept adding to their lead until the game was over.
Amore’ Kirkland (Fayetteville, NC) and Nyleiah White (Albermarle, NC) led the Trojans each with 19 points. Nyla Mitchell (Pembroke, NC) was right behind them finishing with 18 points and eight rebounds.
Aaliyah Thomas (Fayetteville, NC), Ke’Onna Bryant (Fayetteville, NC) and White each had a double double game with double digit rebounds and points.
This is the second highest scoring game for Women’s Basketball in program history.
FTCC vs. Brunswick: 85-77, Win
The Trojans traveled to Brunswick Community College for a conference game on Sunday. With a big first half for the Trojans leading 51-24, the Dolphins outscored the Trojans in the second half by 19 points, but it was not enough to pull ahead.
Mitchell and Kirkland led the Trojan offense with 19 points and Kirkland also had 10 assists. Mauricia Bennett (Whiteville, NC) came off the bench for 12 points and White had 10. Bryant also contributed 13 of the team’s 85 points.
Women’s Basketball is back in action on Wednesday, December 11 when they travel to the Apprentice School.
