REGISTRATION AND RECORDS
Senior citizens may take up to six (6) credit hours free; for any hours over six (6), they pay the tuition and fees.
High school students only pay if they are classified as DUAL which includes the $14.00 activity fee, $16 technology fee, and $15.00 CAPS fee. For other classifications - Huskins or Other Innovative High School - the student does not pay any tuition or fees.
When an employer, other than the Armed Forces, pays tuition for an employee to attend a community college and when the employee works at a North Carolina business location, the employer is charged the in-state tuition rate.
Out-of-state service members and their family members stationed at a North Carolina base are eligible to be charged the in-state tuition rate. This waiver is for the academic year. Certain out-of-state students who are members of families that were transferred to North Carolina by businesses or industries, or civilian families transferred to this state by employment, may be eligible for in-state tuition rates.
