BASIC LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING C55120

Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) is designed to give students essential skills required for employment as a law enforcement officer with state, county, or municipal governments, or with private enterprise.

This program utilizes State commission-mandated topics and methods of instruction.  General subjects include, but are not limited to: Elements of Criminal Law, Juvenile Law, Civil Process, Motor Vehicle Law, Traffic Enforcement, Alcoholic Beverage Laws, Criminal Investigations, Patrol Duties, Detention Duties, Testifying in Court, Ethics and Crime Prevention.

Successful graduates receive 19 credits towards an Associate Degree, a curriculum certificate and are qualified to take the certification examinations mandated by the North Carolina Criminal Justice  Education and Training Standards Commission.

Applications to attend may be picked up at the Spring Lake Campus, Monday - Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm. Applications must be completed prior to the first day of class. For more information on the application process and the specific requirements to attend, please contact the School Director/Program Coordinator.
