The American Council on Education (ACE) provides a collaborative link between the Department of Defense and higher education through the review of military training and experience for the award of equivalent college credit for members of the Armed Forces. The evaluation process is founded on high quality standards of practices including a rigorous review and selection of subject matter experts and academic faculty, a site visit to analyze the content, and an evaluator consensus in determining the learning outcome and appropriate academic credit recommended.
At time of application, students who are or have been members of an armed services branch should have an official ACE Registry transcript sent to FTCC for review. A maximum of 75% of the degree program can be earned this way. Additional support documentation should include Forms DD 214, 225, or 295 if applicable. There is no fee for service members to have these official military documents assessed for credit.
To request an official transcript from the ACE Registry Transcript Service be sent to FTCC, go to: http://aarts.army.mil/ (for Soldiers, Reservists, Veterans, Army National Guard members) or https://smart.navy.mil/ (for Sailors, Marines, and Veterans), or call toll free (866) 297-4427 for AARTS or (877) 253-7122 for SMART.
