NOTE: NAS courses follow FTCC academic calendar and meet over a 16 week period.
Nursing Assistant prepares individuals to work under the supervision of licensed health care professionals in performing nursing care and services for persons of all ages. Course work emphasizes personal care, vital signs, communication, nutrition, medical asepsis, catheterization, tracheostomy care, dressing changes, oxygen therapy, and legal scope of practice for Nursing Assistants. Graduates of this curriculum may be eligible to be listed on the registry as a Nursing Assistant I and Nursing Assistant II. 


Required CNA interest meeting for Fall 2014 will be held on Tuesday May 27th at 6:00pm in HTC-111. This meeting is mandatory for any students wishing to compete for a seat in the High School Connections Nursing Assistant program for Fall 2014. Students who do not attend this meeting, or send someone as their proxy, will be out of the "pool" for the program, no exceptions. It is very important that all students interested in the HSC Nursing program for fall attend this meeting!!
