COMPETITIVE ADMISSION PROCESS
All Health Programs except for Health and Fitness Science and Nursing Aide have a COMPETITIVE ADMISSION PROCESS.
Before selection into the program, you must complete all pre-requisites and gain competitive points. You may take courses at FTCC as you prepare to compete but will be enrolled in the Associate in General Education program during this time.

These programs may be entered when you begin your education at FTCC. It is not necessary for you to complete the steps noted in the next paragraph if you choose one of these programs.
FTCC also offers a "Pre-Health Academy at our Spring Lake Campus" to assist prospective Health Program students prepare for application to a health program.

HEALTH PROGRAMS ADMISSION PROCESS(opens in a new window)
As you begin your journey, it is very important for you to understand the application process and the requirements for each program. When you have completed your FTCC application and had your transcripts sent to our admissions office, be sure to visit our Health Counselor in HTC 202 to obtain a Student Education Plan (SEP). You may also email HealthCounseling@faytechcc.edu to obtain your SEP via email. Be sure to include your name, student ID # and the health program you are interested in.
To gain a better understanding of your academic sequence, you should make an appointment and meet with a member of your program's faculty. An advisor from the health program you are seeking will be assigned for you on your Student Education Plan. This will be your subject matter expert for successful progression through your program of study.

****Criminal background checks are required for several Health Programs. Students may be prohibited from clinical education at specific clinical affiliates based on background check results. This could prevent students from progressing in their respective health programs.****
***Students in health programs may be required to care for clients in clinical settings. Reasonable accommodations will be made to assist students with special needs, but accommodations which are deemed to threaten client safety are not considered reasonable and will not be granted. If you have questions, please discuss your concerns with someone in the Special Populations office or with the Dean of Health Programs.
