HEALTH AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT

The Health and Physical Education Department offers a variety of fitness and wellness classes as well as sport specific classes.  These classes are excellent for college transfer students or any student who would like to improve physical and mental well-being.  The curriculum offers different skill levels in many classes ranging from beginner to intermediate.  Through this program students learn skills that will not only increase longevity, but also quality of life.

SPRING LAKE FITNESS CENTER

The Fitness Centers provides fitness appraisals and is for use by FTCC curriculum students, employees, College personnel, board members, FTCC Retirees, FTCC employee and board member spouses, and children ages 13-18 and must be accompanied by a parent.   Professional staff is on duty from 6-8 a.m. and 2-5 p.m. Monday through Thursday.  The hours of operation are limited, because the Fitness Centers are primarily a Lab for Physical Education and Health Classes.

Visit the FTCC Fitness Center and take a tour.  One of the knowledgeable staff members will lead you through the center and answer any questions you have.  You can use the facility to improve and maintain your health.

Eligibility:  FTCC Students are eligible for membership in the FTCC Fitness Center if they are:

  •      Enrolled in a curriculum course, have a current student I.D., pay the Fitness Center $5.00             

                membership fee, and undergo the equipment orientation.

  •      Continuing Education students must be enrolled in a 8-16 week program and pay the $5.00 Fitness    

                Center Fee if the program they are enrolled in already requires payment of the $14.00 insurance 

                fee.  If the program they are enrolled in does not require payment of an insurance fee, the student

                is required to pay a total of $19.00, which includes the $14.00 college insurance fee and $5.00

                Fitness Center Fee.  The student must provide proof of enrollment and payment of fees prior to

                obtaining paperwork to join the Fitness Center.

FTCC Faculty/Staff, Retirees and Board Members: To be eligible for membership, you must pay a $5 fee. A fitness evaluation is included, if desired for one time only. Any additional fitness evaluations will cost an additional $5 each.
