| The Special Populations Office (SPO) serves any student who requires special accommodations based on his or her documented disability. All information documenting the disability must be filed in the office at least 30 days prior to beginning classes at Fayetteville Technical Community College. The office is located in Room 143 in the Tony Rand Student Center and is open from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Summer hours may vary. |

| The Counselor for the SPO is available to provide personal, social, vocational and educational counseling/services as follows: |
- Counseling (admission, personal and academic)
- Registration referrals
- Academic planning and progress monitoring
- Support services and accommodations
- Career planning and job placement
- Assistance with securing readers & notetakers
- Test proctoring and extra test time

The SPO provides support services to any FTCC student who has a documented disability. Any student requesting support services is required to register with the SPO. The SPO requires that students who request support services submit their request in writing at least thirty (30) days in advance to ensure that the required services are available at the time the student enters classes. The student should also complete all FTCC admissions requirements to include the completion of the placement test. It is the responsibility of the student to contact the SPO and discuss the support services needed.
